their light still shines

23/11/2014

This annual event at the National Botanic Garden of Wales (NBGW) celebrates the lives of those loved and lost. Thank you to all those who participated and helped to make it so memorable. The sponsorship from the Carmarthen Lions Club which allowed free access to the garden for those who were there, was much appreciated. it was a privilege to have Wynne Evans, our Patron, with us and taking part. The warmest thanks must go to Rev. Euryl Howells, Senior Chaplain for Hywel Dda University Health Board, for his hard work with the preparation and leading of the programme.

The following comment has been received:
'my wife and myself were on holiday and had seen a poster in the gardens and decided to just pop by and listen for a few moments. We were pleased that we came at the beginning otherwise we would have missed such a lot. We had two very close family members dying in the year and hadn't had the opportunity to grieve or to reflect on how their lives had touched ours 'their life does still shine'. Congratulations on the programme, and we were even more delighted we could take a service sheet away and share with the family. Whoever thought of this type of service in this venue was obviously extremely visionary and well versed in human suffering and to shelter and support the pain. We hope that they will continue for years'.
